Quote of the Day

The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.

I am not a nationalist, but I still think it is better to be able to state what you are for rather than only having the capacity to state what you are against.

Good point... Not sure where you're going with this, but if you're referring directly to me, this thing's just getting started, and it's my 1st "quote of the day", so gimme a break... If you're talking about, oh, I'd guess democrats or liberals (non-nationalists?), then I'd ask, what is an opposition party for? And I'd have to answer that it has many purposes, including to offer proposals of its own (which, if it has no power, like now, are often voted down or worse, ignored). Another is to make sure the dominant party does not overstep its bounds. I'm sure you've heard the addage that power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I can't think of any time in our history when we didn't have corrupt politicians. It's up to the press, the opposing party(ies), and us - as informed citizens - to to keep them in line... now go read a book.
